Seriously, can anyone tell me what good it does to get a flu shot? We all got flu shots this year. Well, all of us except my husband Kevin - the only one to have missed this current round of plague. What I thought was just a cold has turned out to be the flu, in all it’s achy muscles, pounding head, fever, chills, and wracking cough glory. Poor Noah has run a temperature for five days in a row now!

Well, I don’t want to sound like a whiner, so I will say that taking a few days off from homeschooling has allowed for more time to read - and watch Season Six of Gilmore Girls on DVD. I’m about halfway through Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies, and it is a page-turner. I’m sure I’ll be diverging from my Spring Reading Thing list to read the rest of the series very soon.

I’m also making good time through Diana Gabaldon’s Voyager on audiobook. Any book that makes me look forward to laundry and dishes so that I can listen some more has to be good. (Spoiler alert: skip the next paragraph if you haven’t read Voyager yet.

Claire has just made her decision to go back to find Jamie, now that she knows he not only survived Culloden, but the twenty years after. The scene where Brianna reads the goodbye letter is coming up soon, and I know I’ll bawl like a baby. Again.

Here are my bookish posts since last Sunday:

A discussion about audiobooks and a list of my twelve favorites

Booking Through Thursday about the worst best books

My review of In the Woods by Tana French
