What we’ve been watching lately
We are huge fans of Netflix at our house. Kevin and I have discovered that it is much more fun to watch TV series on DVD. Sure, we still watch our favorites as they air, but we have found some other series that we are still catching up on, and it’s nice to be able to watch one episode after another if we want to.
We just finished watching seasons two through six of Scrubs. We had watched the first season when it aired, and then we didn’t have cable for awhile, and never got back to it. Scrubs is irreverent and off-beat, and consistently makes me laugh out loud. John C. McGinley is brilliant as the ranting Dr. Cox; Zach Braff is lovable and bumbling. The episode “My Musical” in season six is a must-see.
We’ve been waiting for almost a year for season four of Numb3rs to be released. I like detective shows if they have something about them that makes them unique. I love the math, I love the relationship between Don and Charlie and their dad, played by the ever-amazing Judd Hirsch. I’ve been a huge Rob Morrow fan since Northern Exposure, so any series he is in is on my list.
If you haven’t watched the BBC’s series Robin Hood, you are missing something truly wonderful. Jonas Armstrong is cocky yet lovable, daring yet conflicted, and he makes a perfect Hood. Richard Armitage is truly too good-looking to play such an evil character as Sir Guy, but he pulls it off. His looks just make it hard to truly hate him.
We just started season two, which was recently released on DVD here in the States.
So, what have you been watching lately?

I watched the first disc of season one of Robin Hood because my friend told me it was wonderful. This was probably in the Spring, I guess I didn’t like it enough to continue? Not sure what happened to that really. Maybe I’ll give it another go sometime.
I’ve got Season 2 of 30 Rock to watch this weekend. I recently watched Season 1. It’s my plan to be ready for the Season 3 premiere in a few weeks!
Alea - yes, give it another try - it truly is an entertaining and addictive show. I also love that it’s family-friendly and I can watch it with my kids, which I can’t do with a lot of the TV I watch.
