Okay, I was at my parents’ house tonight, and my mom reminded me that Melanie was very young - Jared didn’t want to be with her because she was only 18 or so. I remembered it once she told me. I think the reason I pictured her older is because Wanderer was an old soul, and that’s whose personality came out the most to me.
I still think Evangeline Lilly or Summer Glau would be a good choice, though - they could play a bit younger than they are.
