Dream TV and book dates
Entertainment Weekly is counting down 30 TV characters their readers have said they would date. And it got me thinking.
So, even though I know some of us are happily married, would never dream of cheating, etc. etc. etc. But… if you were (or are) single, and if it were possible to date a character (not the actor) from a television program, who would be your pick?
I obviously go for smart, sarcastic brunettes, because the first three characters that came to mind were: Hawkeye Pierce from M*A*S*H, Dr. Joel Fleischman from Northern Exposure (I also wouldn’t mind his other incarnation: Don Epps on Numb3rs), and Josh Lyman from The West Wing. Only Josh made the EW list, so obviously my “type” is in the minority.
Okay, now what about books? Which book character would you date?
My picks are Connor Larkin from Trinity by Leon Uris, and Kerbouchard from The Walking Drum by Louis L’Amour. Much different characters than my TV picks.
I ‘fessed up, so now it’s your turn. Who are your dream TV and book character dates?

[…] over to Books and Movies and tell me which TV character you would date - in the hypothetical, if we were single, and if it were possible to date a character from a TV […]
Hmmm…
Going from the EW list, I’d guess I’d choose Claire Bennet from Heroes (young, I know, but at least she’s legal now), Kaylee from Firefly, and… (not from the EW list), Angela from Bones.
Books: Annja Creed from the Rogue Angel series, Patricia Hutchins from an SF series I’ve read by Jack McDevitt, and… I can’t think of anyone else right now.
Kev - my husband (also Kevin) likes Kaylee, too.
Lenny Briscoe from Law & Order (I still can’t believe Jerry Orbach is gone), Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis, Ronin from Stargate Atlantis, Lovejoy from Lovejoy.
There are more but….
Carrie K. - Ooo, I forgot Daniel Jackson from Stargate: SG-1!
